Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain…
Hello, my name is Matt. My username here and on other sites is “firestorm_v1”. I am the creator of YourWarrantyIsVoid.com and I hope that you like the site. I created this site as a storage place and to serve as documentation of my various accomplishments in computers, hardware and software modification and other neat little things I find across the Internet that are post-worthy.
I don’t have any formal training in electronics or computers and aside from a Turbo Pascal in high school, have taken no official classes on any of the items discussed on this site. I have real-world experiences and I hope that by posting my experiences here that someone will stand to benefit, either by not hitting whatever roadblock I have encountered along the way or by being inspired to pursue their own goals.
I have worked on a couple of Basic Stamp microcontrollers and have recently acquired a Propeller development kit and have started getting interested in working with high speed processors. I hope to one day be able to afford to go to college again and graduate with a doctorate in Electrical Energy. Until then, I learn what I can, when I can and I love to share my findings with the rest of the geek community at-large. I am a contributing member to two San Antonio user groups even though I find myself living in Houston for the time being.
That being said, I’m not trying to advertise this site as the next Hack-A-Day or posting advertisements for products that I have never seen or any kind of artificial shenanigans that litter other hacking sites. You don’t have to register to leave comments on articles, you don’t have to link to my site or anything at all. All I ask is that you enjoy yourself while here. If you feel like you would like to leave a comment, please feel free to do so. If you want to link to an article on this site, by all means, go for it.
So, kick back, have some fun and read some of my articles. You might find something you like.
